Find Your Park for Kids to Parks Day!
This Saturday, May 16, is Kids to Parks Day. For the fifth year in a row, the National Park Trust has organized this nationwide day of outdoor play. It's a great opportunity to join families across the country and head to a park near you to enjoy the day.
Being active is an important part of a healthy lifestyle, and what better place to be active and fun than in America's great outdoors. There are many local, state, and national parks that offer space to hike, bike, and play active games. And there are over 800 Kids to Parks Day events going on across the nation with over 315,000 kids and families who have pledged to join in the festivities. Find out what's happening in your community or create an event for your family, friends, and neighbors to join in.
This year, the National Park Service is encouraging everyone to Find Your Park, and through their Every Kid in a Park initiative, fourth graders and their families can visit national parks free of charge.
You can also visit Let's Move! Outside to find parks and places near you to enjoy the outdoors tomorrow and throughout the entire year.
So what are you waiting for? Find your park and enjoy Kids to Parks Day!
